Q3 2021 Reflection
Hello everyone -
I thought I would hop on and give an update on my 2021 goals! I feel this year has just flown by, but not in a good way. I’m finally feeling back to normal and ready to pursue these goals with more discipline. I took a big break from my usual habits for the last 1.5 years. And, now it’s time to slowly building them back up. This is not a comprehensive guide, but just a check in to see how I can optimize the rest of year!
HEAL:
Build a New Fitness Routine 5/10
This progress is mediocre at best. I’ve completed the weekly set(which is 3 weight training days, 2 yoga sessions, and one run) about 25% of the month. Otherwise, I am making it to the gym on average twice a week. I want to start prioritizing this goal a-lot more for Q4.
Develop a Morning / Night Routine 8/10
I have developed more of a routine, and i’ve noticed I have been sleeping better and it’s easier to wake up at 6:00 am. I think where I am lacking is optimizing my time in the mornings so I can relax more in the evenings.
Schedule My Routine Care in January 10/10
This is a huge success as I have finished all of my preventative care. It feels nice to be ahead of the game here and I will repeat everything next January.
Fix My Teeth (for the second time) 9/10
I got Breezy Braces from Tend in December and they have worked! It was difficult to speak for a month, but after that they became manageable. They worked very quickly for me. I am getting them off in October! I’m very happy I did this in 2021.
Monetize:
This year I am monetizing Megna.Photo LLC. I will measure my success by my income exceeding my business expenses. 6/10
Well this year took a turn because I decided to get a certificate from Parsons in digital photography. I’m 75% done, and have one more course to go which i’ll do in November/December. In my 2021 reflection, I will detail the cost analysis of the program, but i’ve really enjoyed it so far and I think it’s helped me gain skills in furthering my business.
Ive made enough this year to cover my adobe photoshop subscription, but i’ve also taken a bit of break since I’ve been in school learning. Content to come.
Reuse:
I am committing to one year of second-hand shopping. The only exception is for small ethical businesses. This means every piece of clothing I buy will be thrifted. 2/10
I lasted until July, then totally failed at this goal. I just didn’t really have time to shop in store, and I didn’t like not being able to return pieces. I haven’t bought many clothes this year but I’d say that now I’m valuing just being able to get what I want on time more than I am about it being sustainable. We will see how the rest of the year looks for my wardrobe.
Adventure:
I haven’t been traveling as much as usual because of the pandemic so I thought i’d highlight some places I went to in NYC and my thoughts about it :)
JULY
Maman - cute brunch place
MonoMono - cute korean date spot
The Dutch - overpriced and not worth it
Bushwina - my favorite sushi place in nyc
Street taco - overrated and hard to get into
AUGUST
Westlight - amazing views and vibes
Shelter - good food and vibes
Balade - AMAZING good, get the meat platter
Gotham comedy - so funny, worth a visit
SEPTEMBER
